STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Overview
A Statement of Purpose (SOP) is a 500 to 700-word essay that tells your rationale for applying to an Academic Graduate program at a University of your choice. This SOP bridges the gap between your past academic and professional backgrounds and your future aspirations.

A well-constructed SOP will go a long way to convincing the admission panel to consider you for admission into the University. Your SOP should address the following points not generically but specifically and critically:

  1. Outline your academic or professional interests and goals.
  2. Discuss relevant skills, experience, and achievements.
  3. Why have you chosen to study this course?
  4. How does this course relate to your previous study and future career?
  5. Why have you chosen to study with X University?
  6. Why the UK and not your country or any other country?
